Tarot Card of the Year

Tarot Card of the Year 2019 | 0 The Fool

I swear the Fool and I have a recognized relationship with one another. I pull it often during times of renewal and rebirth (like Easter and Midsummer solstice) .

Shuffling the deck nine times after cleansing the deck with palo santo and selenite, I pulled a card from the deck and laid it in front of me. Eyes closed (not always an occurrence but sometimes I enjoy the inner quiet of my mind before a pull), hand feeling the gentle pulse and tug of the kid beneath my fingertips. As I pull, I gently open my lids to the light. Before me, a bright, light-hearted card. The Fool.

For the year find yourself asking, what are you being asked to leap into with faith and trust? The Fool is a card of beginnings and of innocence. A door is before you, opening. Welcome yourself in and trust the vulnerable unknown of the world. Believe in your journey that it will be a successful one. Drop the worries. Feel them but allow them to drop away beneath you. Like the Fool, lead a carefree life. He trusts in his feet and the power of where the universe will bring him. This card is about personal growth, faith, new experiences, and belief within ourselves. To know we can trust our hearts to make the right decision.

The Fool is also a symbol of naïveté. Stay cautious but receptive. Don’t let the doubts hold you back.

Take a deep breath. Jump. Fly. Trust in yourself.

Shared One Bedroom Apartment | Video Tour & A New YouTube Channel

Happy new year! Wishing you all an abundance of amazing things and experiences in 2019. In December, I decided to start a YouTube channel. It’s in the beginning stages and it’ll be an eclectic mix of the knowledge and interests I have and will grow based on the content you all enjoy the most. Let me know what that is by liking, subscribing, and commenting so we can connect!

One of the first videos I put up is a bedroom tour. The three of us live in a sweet and cozy one bedroom apartment. It’s spacious with a big enough bedroom, bathroom, walk-in closet, living room, and kitchen for all of us to enjoy. I know there are parents out there struggling with the same situation and I want to let you know it’s possible to exist happily in a tiny space. If I could, I’d buy a bus and live in that for a while. Experiences over material possessions always.

I often find myself rearranging and this is my favorite rearrangement so far. I was nervous about whether I’d like the desk in front of the window but I’m so excited for it and slightly appalled I didn’t put it there sooner. Our son still crawls into bed with us so I’ve delayed getting him a bigger bed and I love the look of floor beds so much! He still fits in it and enjoys his bed right now so we may continue to delay it a little longer.

What are your thoughts on small spaces? Do you live in one?

2018's Eclectic Holiday Playlist

2018's Eclectic Holiday Playlist

Will you hear Run-DMC’s Christmas music in the mall? No. But you totally should be and that’s why I created this playlist.

Music fuels me. Creating playlists for different moods, genres, holidays, and events is one of my favorite things to do. Holiday songs can become repetitive and dull. You’ll be doused in “Jingle Bells” in every store and business you visit between now and the 25th and you’ll probably want to rip your ears out. I’m not one to shy away from any genre of music. I hate feeling like I’m limiting myself or sticking myself into a box. So if you’re anything like me and love music – this will be the playlist for you. It ranges from indie to hip-hop to classic to punk to rock.

Traditional Christmas music is nice but unconventional is even better. Last year’s playlist was limited to 67 songs but the playlist is filled with over 100 songs for you and always growing.

What’s your favorite Christmas song? Let me know in the comments below and maybe it’ll be added to the playlist!
